Livermore man arrested after reports of arguments, gunfire in Columbia,

-

Reports of a verbal dispute followed by gunshots about noon Tuesday on Gunsight Road in Columbia led to the arrest of a man from Livermore on suspicion of assault with a firearm and other charges, the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release on Wednesday.

Sheriff’s deputies spoke with two alleged victims, whose names were not provided, at the scene of the reported dispute and learned that a man had arrived at the residence claiming someone had stolen some of his belongings, the release stated.

When the man was told to leave, the release stated he then pointed a firearm at both of the alleged victims and fired one round into the ground next to one of them before getting back in his vehicle and leaving the scene.

No one was struck or injured by the shot, the release said.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to another property on Gunsight Road where the man was believed to have gone and located Jesse Angel Serpa, 41, whose home address was listed in jail booking logs as being on the 1000 block of Bluebell Drive in Livermore.

Serpa, whom the Sheriff’s Office said is on post-release community supervision out of Alameda County, was detained while deputies searched his vehicle and surrounding area. The release stated the search uncovered a pistol that did not have a brand marking or serial number, a 9mm pistol, 9mm ammunition and magazines.

Serpa was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly firearm and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Serpa was booked into the Tuolumne County jail on $50,000 bail and remained there as of Wednesday, according to Vinelink, a website showing the status of inmates in jails throughout the United States.
