TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

FRIDAY

12:51 p.m., threats — A man threatened to hurt a cashier and burn down a Sanguinett­i Road business. When contacted by an officer, the man said he was angry for being charged twice for an item and had no intention of harming anyone.

2:32 p.m., theft — A man concealed items in his clothing at a Sanguinett­i Road store and left. When contacted in the parking lot, an elderly man with long gray hair who was driving the car the man got into attempted to run over the person who confronted them.

6:32 p.m., hazardous situation — A broken Tuolumne Utilities District water main created a large pothole on South Shepherd Street.

7:49 p.m., miscellane­ous harassment — A driver on Mono Way said a man hung out the driver’s side window yelling at the driver and swerving as if to hit the driver.

8:47 p.m., vandalism, property damage — A tree fell on several vehicles parked in a lot on School Street.

SATURDAY

10:25 a.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A man sitting in an older car with broken windows in a parking lot on Greenley Road started yelling at nobody, then got out of the car and began beating it with a baseball bat.

1:02 a.m., theft — Someone walked out of an Old Wards Ferry Road business with a cart full of items that were not paid for, loaded the items into a vehicle and left.

5:59 p.m., weapons violations — A juvenile passenger in a black four-door Dodge Dakota was seen leaning out the window shooting a BB gun at street signs on Highway 49.

7:43 p.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A woman said a man wearing a mask approached her and asked for drugs at a Greenley Road apartment complex.

SUNDAY

4:33 a.m., burglary — A man wearing a black hoodie and another man wearing a gray hooding were seen breaking into a Mono Way laundromat.

5:45 a.m., robbery — A man who flagged down a woman with a flashlight on North Washington Street said he had been robbed and assaulted. The man was transporte­d to Adventist Health Sonora by ambulance.

7:36 a.m., animal complaints — A bear was seen wandering down Oakside Drive headed toward Hope Street.

12:11 p.m., theft — Four young girls wearing matching pajama bottoms took items from a Washington Street Store. A second business owner called to say they were now in her store. The girls were located and returned the items that were taken.

2:20 p.m., theft — An ipad was taken from an unlocked vehicle on South Shepherd Street.

8:19 p.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A man said he was kidnapped by nurses at a Greenley Road medical center. Staff at the center said the man was suffering from a health issue.

9:02 a.m., Twain Harte — A wallet was stolen from a Twain Harte Drive property.

1:30 p.m., Twain Harte — Someone paced around looking into vehicles on Joaquin Gully Road.

1:43 p.m., Columbia — A John Wallace Road resident said trash was dumped in his yard.

3:45 p.m., Sonora area — A Kewin Mill Road resident said “Jesus” has been squatting on the property.

7:28 p.m., Long Barn — Someone on Sno-bowl Road said their neighbors had a bonfire.

5:26 p.m., Pinecrest — Several campfire were reported at a Pinecrest Road campground.

SATURDAY

4:24 a.m., Tuolumne — Someone was arrested for being drunk in public at a Tuolumne Road North business.

10:38 p.m., Sonora area — A Morris Road property was vandalized.

1:25 p.m., East Sonora — Someone made threats at a Mono Way business.

1:47 p.m., Tuolumne — A Ponderosa Way resident said a young person screamed for more than two minutes.

1:53 p.m., Tuolumne — Several reports were made for a fire on Mi Wu Street.

2:34 p.m., Sonora area — A catalytic converter and gasoline were stolen from an RV parked on Camage Avenue.

4:12 p.m., Tuolumne — Someone was sexually assaulted at a Pine Street park.

6:10 p.m., Sonora area — A black German shepherd wandered on Longeway Road.

7:33 p.m., Jamestown — A drunk person was arrested after refusing to leave a Chicken Ranch Road business.

SUNDAY

7:23 a.m., Sonora area — A Via Este resident said a “confused” young woman with two-toned hair wearing a black hoodie and gray pants wandered around the property, asked the resident for a ride home, then asked the resident if she could use the bathroom. The same woman walked into the backyard of a Corte Primero residence and opened the back door. She left when asked and was later arrested by a deputy.

1:47 p.m., Sonora — A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Gibbs Drive.

2:05 p.m., Columbia — Someone was assaulted on Marble Quarry Road.

4:24 p.m., Columbia — An Italian Bar Road property was burglarize­d.

7:55 p.m., Jamestown — A man with a stick threatened a woman at Rocca Park on Main Street.

10:06 p.m., Tuolumne — A Providence Mine Road residence said her neighbors had a large bonfire.
