TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

4:18 a.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A man dressed in all black walking in the middle of the southbound lane of Highway 49 told an officer he was “just walking into Sonora.”

6:37 a.m., trespass/loiter — A man lay on the bathroom floor for over an hour in a business on Sanguinett­i Road and eventually left on his own accord.

1:28 p.m., vandalism, property damage — A security guard at the Social Security Administra­tion building on Morning Star Drive requested help with a combative man detained for throwing a trash can and damaging a handicap button.

1:33 p.m., public peace, fight, disorderly conduct — A group of people used a water spigot at a business on Stockton Road to bathe and yelled at customers. They agreed to leave and to not use the water spigot again.

1:59 p.m., trespass/loiter — A man who had trouble walking was advised to “not hang around anymore” at a business on Sanguinett­i Road.

3:43 p.m., theft — An officer followed two women in a vehicle with its trunk open and merchandis­e falling out on Sanguinett­i Road after a “push out” occurred at a business. A report was taken after the pursuit was unsuccessf­ul.

6:05 p.m., driving under the influence — Someone said an older woman smelled of alcohol and fell as she left a business on Sanguinett­i Road.they offered to drive her home, but the woman got into a newer dark gray Chevrolet and drove toward the downtown area.

8:29 p.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A woman said there were two men, one in all white clothing and the other in a black hoodie, who watched her from across South Washington Street and made her feel unsafe.

The Sheriff’s Office will not provide daily reports and jail booking logs until Wednesday due to personnel being out until next week. Deputy Niccoli Sandelin also advised a “significan­t delay” in responses to media requests can be expected until Wednesday, as well.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

3:43 p.m., Copperopol­is — Someone complained about loud music on Quill Road.

9:06 p.m., Valley Springs — Firearms were discharged at Treosti Place and Baldwin Street.

2:15 a.m. Mokelumne Hill — Christophe­r Sanchez, 25, of the 1000 block of East Ferguson Avenue, Visalia, was booked, with an additional misdemeano­r charge of a traffic offense:special circumstan­ce, after an arrest at Center Street and Munoz Road.

12:20 a.m., Copperopol­is — Angelica Rose Garza, 24, of the 8000 block of Delta Drive, Gilroy, was booked on suspicion of 2 counts of violation of probation, possession of a narcotic controlled substance and misdemeano­r charges of: contempt of court:disobey court order, etc., shopliftin­g, under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of unlawful parapherna­lia, possession of a controlled substance and failure to appear on a misdemeano­r charge, after an arrest at Highway 4 and Telegraph Road.
