NEWS OF RECORD
The Sonora Police Department reported the following:
FRIDAY
8:19 a.m., alarm — A person who had an appointment at the American Red Cross on Sanguinetti Road said a note on the door said it was closed, but the door pushed open and an alarm was sounded. Another caller said the same thing happened at 10:14 a.m.
10:12 a.m., theft — A man weaning a gray hooding and carrying a turquoise cooler bag took items from a Sanguinetti Road store without paying.
12:09 p.m., public peace/ fight/disorderly conduct — A man with a red beard yelled and cursed at a bus driver and opened a wheel-chair lift door then jumped out of the bus at Courthouse Square. The man later called a bus service operator and threatened the bus driver.
1:07 p.m., trespass/loiter — A man dressed in all white refused to leave the front of a South Washington Street business when asked. He was issued an official trespass from the business.
1:47 p.m., lost/found property — A cell phone found at a South Washington Street inn was booked as found property at the police station.
9:19 p.m., assault — A cleancut gray-haired man assaulted someone at a Linoberg Street business. Officers were unable to find the man.
9:20 p.m., trespass/loiter — A group of juveniles hanging out in a Sanguinetti Road parking lot were told to leave the area by an officer.
10:05 p.m., vandalism/property damage — The men’s restroom at Woods Creek Rotary Park was vandalized.
SATURDAY
12:59 a.m., assault — An arrest was made for assault after someone flagged down an officer on South Washington Street.
10:48 a.m., animal complaints — A golden retriever and a tan boxer-type dog were loose on the Dragoon Gulch Trail.
11:31 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A man in a gray jacket looked into vehicles parked in a Sanguinetti Road parking lot.
11:56 a.m., hazardous situation — A hole was found in North Stewart Street that was about the size of a softball and about 1.5 feet deep. The road was closed to northbound traffic while utility crews fixed the problem.
1:35 p.m., public intoxication — A man was arrested after a caller at a Sanguinetti Road business saw him stagger out of a bathroom and nearly pass out.
1:42 p.m., traffic accidents — A woman said her husband was struck by a silver pickup around 12:55 p.m. as he was riding his bicycle in a crosswalk on Restano Way. The man was uninjured but “shook up.”
1:59 p.m., animal complaints — A brindle-and-white pit bull wearing a gray sweater tried to get into a Mono Way business. The dog was gone when an officer arrived.
3:52 p.m., theft — Someone stole cigarette products from a Pesce Way store and took pictures of the store’s cameras and entrance before leaving in a white car.
5:57 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A bearded man in a hat drove around a Sanguinetti Road parking lot and waved “at every woman he sees.” He circled around one woman a couple of times.
7:07 p.m., traffic violations — A man wearing a green work shirt and jeans was unstable on his feet when he got out of his vehicle in a Mono Way parking lot. The man denied driving the vehicle and was later picked up by the vehicle’s owner.
11 p.m., public peace/fight/ disorderly conduct — Officers found several juveniles having a party without an adult present after neighbors complained of loud music on South Barretta Street. The juveniles were released to their parents.
SUNDAY
7:49 a.m., theft — A black firefighter gear bag was stolen from the back of a pickup parked on Alpine Lane.
9:22 a.m., animal complaints — A golden retriever and tan boxer-type dog were loose, again, on the Dragoon Gulch Trail.
11:18 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A man in a green shirt and ballcap was seen looking into vehicles parked at a Sanguinetti Road parking lot.
11:33 a.m., burglary — A door and windows were damaged at a Snell Street address. A caller said construction has been ongoing at the site and it was unknown if anything was stolen.
2:44 p.m., animal complaints — A husky dog killed a chicken at a Snell Street address. The chicken’s owner declined to press charges, and the dog was transported to animal control.
4:57 p.m., animal complaints — A Lyons Street resident said a neighbor picked up his dog by its head and ears and repeatedly spanked the dog. An officer admonished the owner.
10:16 p.m., graffiti — Graffiti was written in the men’s restroom at Woods Creek Rotary Park.
10:28 p.m., public intoxication — A brunette woman wearing a black hoodie screamed, yelled and threw things at a South Washington Street inn. An officer was unable to find the woman.
10:43 p.m., public intoxication — A woman said she was approached by a man asking for money while she was trying to get gas at a South Washington Street business. The same woman said another man sat in front of the business and yelled obscenities.

2:01 a.m., Mi-wuk Village — Threats were made to someone on Lama Road.
9:44 a.m., Sonora — Possible elder abuse was reported on Roselyn Lane.
2:02 p.m., Twain Harte — Something was stolen from an RV park on Highway 108.
2:54 p.m., Sonora area — A Powell Ranch Road property was burglarized.
5:34 p.m., Tuolumne — Someone crashed a car and left it on Apple Colony Road.
7:20 p.m., Sonora area — Theft was reported at a Blue Bell West property.
7:33 p.m., Jamestown — Three cows were in the roadway near Park Avenue.
7:48 p.m., unknown — A loud “boom” was heard in the area of Crystal Falls, Phoenix Lake or Big Hill.
8:50 p.m., Jamestown — Someone was threatened at a mobile home park on Highway 108.

12:06 p.m., Jamestown — Machines were broken into at a Jamestown Road business.
2:18 p.m., Twain Harte — A Mount Provo Road property was burglarized.
6:10 p.m., Sonora area — Someone was arrested after a fight at a Buttercup Lane property.
SUNDAY
11:25 a.m., Sonora — Items were taken from unlocked vehicles on West Walnut sometime during the night.
4:13 p.m., Columbia — A gold Chevy Impala was found on Parrotts Ferry Road with the dash pulled apart and the ignition on.
4:16 p.m., Sonora area — Someone was assaulted at a Phoenix Lake Road address.

1:13 a.m., Jamestown — Charles Thomas Penny, 28, of the 2800 block of Gardendale Road, Sacramento, was booked on suspicion of possession of metal knuckles after an arrest on Highway 108 near Victoria Place.
8:51 p.m., Twain Harte — Stephanie Lynn Poreider, 34, of the 25000 block of E. Jodean Way, Mi-wuk Village, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/
cohabitant after an arrest on the 23000 block of Highway 108.

12:19 p.m., Copperopolis — Fraud occurred on Copper Cove Drive.
5:27 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — Someone was assaulted on Lafayette Street.
8:51 p.m., Valley Springs — A Silver Rapids Road property was vandalized.

1:14 p.m., San Andreas — A West Murray Creek Road property was burglarized.
1:23 p.m., San Andreas — Someone was arrested after a report of battery on West Saint Charles Street.

10:35 a.m., West Point — Theft was reported at a West Pioneer Road address.
