J.C. Duncan OBITUARIES
1947 - 2021
Chinese Camp resident and Army veteran J.C. Duncan passed away at his home on Nov. 18, 2021, at the age of 74.
Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, J.C. served in the Army as a sharpshooter and an ammunition specialist, later becoming a millwright and machinist for SPI. He lived the past eight years in Chinese Camp.
J.C. loved being in the mountains with his family and friends. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping and shooting black powder rifles. He loved to make things for family and friends in his shop. He enjoyed passing this knowledge on to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
J.C. is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cathy Duncan, of Chinese Camp; daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Glenn Reibin, of
Jamestown; son and daughter-in-law Joe and Kristen Duncan, of Sonora; grandchildren Kayla Penrose, of Sonora, Curtis Duncan, of Sonora, Jake and Ashley Reibin, of Jamestown, Jaycie and Nick Wilson, of Soulsbyville, Jared and Marissa Reibin, of Jamestown, and Ketra Prichard, of Sonora; eight great-grandchildren; and his brother, Don Duncan, of Columbia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Arvela Duncan, in-laws Jess and Frances Sullivan, and six siblings.
A private family service will be held.

VANDERPLAATS — Former Groveland resident Garret N. “Gary” Vanderplaats, 77, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died Thursday, Nov. 11, in Colorado Springs. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Groveland. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
