Rittenhouse ruling stifles free speech

To the Editor:

The Rittenhouse ruling cannot stand. As authoritarians move to take control they know they must stifle the opposition, or their efforts to take power will fail.

It's scary but in ever larger numbers, we will need to exercise our right to assemble and protest racism, sexism and fascism. And, we must withdraw our patronage from all businesses not actively and openly on the side of real democracy and equality for all.

If you don't think our American democracy is on life support, you aren't paying attention. An entire political party has become addicted to hate, and it is a powerful drug…

All our words and actions must be peaceful and loving and firm in our resolve.
