1939 — 2021

-

Longtime Columbia resident Patricia “Pat” Helen Regevig passed away at her home on Nov. 25, 2021. She was 82.

Although Patricia was born in Fargo, North Dakota, she spent almost her entire life in California. She was the matriarch of the family and they were her greatest joy in life. She looked forward to the holidays where she could cook and bake for them and passed along many wonderful family recipes to her children and grandchildren.

In her younger years, Pat enjoyed playing golf and tennis and hosting weekend barbecues. Summers were spent travelling across the country, camping and fishing, and she always enjoyed playing cards along with a good game of Yahtzee. She loved singing Patsy Cline songs and leg wrestling with the grandkids. In her later years, she watched The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy religiously, and she also enjoyed old westerns.

Pat was everybody’s mom/grandma. She never turned away anyone in need. Her generosity and determination toward helping others will forever live within her children and grandchildren. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Pat is survived by her children, Michael Foster, of Columbia, Thoris Donovan and Deeanne Betzenderfer, both of Sonora, and Katherine Scopazzi, of Burlingame; 14 grandchildren; 23 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by husbands Eugene Foster (1975), Earle Freis (1977) and Marvin Regevig (1981); her parents, Helen Vail (1993) and Donald Mcbride (2000); siblings Mary Mcbride (2002) and Donald C. Mcbride (2015); and her son, Patrick Foster (2008).

Services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021. A viewing will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home, 225 E. Rose Ave., Sonora, followed by graveside services at 1 p.m. at Mountain Shadow Cemetery on Lyons-bald Mountain Road in Sonora.
