Howard David Sundborg

Lifelong Sonora resident Howard “Howie” David Sundborg passed away on Dec. 6, 2021, at Adventist Health Sonora. He was 77.

Howard enjoyed hunting, water skiing and spending time with family and friends. He was the owner/operator of Sundborg Heavy Equipment Repair, and one of his favorite hobbies was driving in a pull truck with his son, Jeff. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfathe­r and friend to many. He was a talented mechanic and often stayed working until early morning hours to get the last truck done and on the road again. He was a mentor and friend to many in the community. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

Howard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ellen Anne Wilson-sundborg; his children, Jeffery “Jeff” Allen Sundborg, Deborah H. Sundborg and Amy L. Sundborg; grandchild­ren, Melissa Fuller-rumsey, Kylhe De Martini-jones, Brittanny Allen-haste, Melanie Fulfer, Megan Fulfer and Jeffery Allen; nine great-grandchild­ren; and sisters Margaret “Margie” Sundborg-foster and Patricia “Patty” Sundborg-mills. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jackie Sundborg, George Sundborg and Richard Sundborg.

A service will be held at 1:30 p.m.sunday, Dec. 19, 2021, at the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Posse Grounds, 19130 Rawhide Road in Jamestown.
