Slippery slopes
Dodge Ridge ski area off Highway 108 near Pinecrest opened for the season on Thursday.
“Today is phenomenal,” said Marketing and Sales Director Jeff Hauff on Thursday. “A top opening day. The best we’ve had in a decade for snow total, skier visits and smoothness of operations. There’s an ear-toear smile on everyone’s face.”
Hauff said the resort is 75% open and will be fully open after Ski Patrol members prep the back side of the mountain.
“We’re expecting more snow next week, and we have gotten over 100 inches since October,” Hauff said.
Hauff said the resort will offer live music this weekend, along with visits from Santa Claus from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
