The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

MONDAY

10:05 a.m., animal complaint — A child was playing with a brown-and-white pointer dog when it became distracted and ran off. The dog returned with a dead chicken in its mouth, and the owner was cited for a dog-atlarge on Williams Street.

12:08 p.m., public intoxicati­on — A man who slept between two businesses on Mono Way was arrested.

1:26 p.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — The doors of a Sanguinett­i Road office were unlocked and the lights were on but no one was there when a man arrived for an appointmen­t. Officers secured the front door and left a message for the business owner.

2:40 p.m. Public peace, fight, disorderly conduct —

A woman in a multi-colored shirt, shorts and long socks pushed a cart and threw things at cars in the parking lot of a business on Stockton Road. No charges were filed, but an officer admonished her for throwing things around vehicles.

4:51 p.m. lost, found property — Someone lost a wallet with pictures of cupcakes on it containing two credit cards, a gift card and driver’s license at a business on Mono Way.

5:16 p.m., vandalism, property damage — A report was taken for an attempted theft of high-ticket items and knives from a locked case at a business on Sanguinett­i Road.

9:39 p.m., trespass/loiter — Two people inside a Stockton Road business after hours were arrested.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

6:27 a.m., San Andreas — A window on West Saint Charles Street was hit with a rock or a brick.

10 a.m., West Point — Grand theft occurred on Main Street.

11:43 a.m., Murphys — Someone trespassed on a Highway 4 property.

12;52 p.m., Valley Springs — Someone trespassed on an on Oak Ridge Court property.

9:46 p.m., Copperopol­is — Someone trespassed on an Arrowhead Street property.

10:30 a.m., Angels Camp — George Garcia Ariza Jr., 39, no address given, was booked after an arrest on Main Street.

7:49 a.m., Valley Springs — Michael Lee Babb, 38, o f the 12700 block of Quicksilve­r Street, Waterford, was booked on suspicion of kidnapping, inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant, vandalism of $400 or more, unlawful possession/use of tear gas and misdemeano­r violating a protective order for domestic violence after an arrest at Double Springs on Highway 26.

4:30 p.m., Valley Springs —

Theresa Ann Francis Doughty, 58, of the 8500 block of Owens Way, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant after an arrest at her home.

MONDAY

11:19 p.m., Murphys — David Douglas Sneed, 37, of the 200 block of Fairway Village Drive, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant/dating relationsh­ip and child abuse with possibilit­y of great bodily injury or death, after an arrest at his home.
