TUOLUMNE COUNTY
The Sonora Police Department reported the following:
WEDNESDAY
6:49 a.m., suspicious circumstances — Someone said it appeared that a person tried to kick the door in at the dome, a window was broken and there was damage inside. An officer determined it was from a previous burglary on South Barretta Street.
11:54 a.m., public peace, fight, disorderly conduct — A woman who was trespassed the day before returned to a Stockton Road business and “screamed at everyone.”
12:34 p.m., public intoxication — A passenger stumbled and fell as he exited a vehicle on South Shepherd Street and the driver could not get him up, so they left him in the street and drove off. The man in the street was arrested.
12:57 p.m., weapons violations — Someone said a man in tan pants, blue or black shirt and orange backpack had a gun in a holster hanging out of his back pocket and got into a taxi. The man was contacted on Pesce Way and admonished for open carry of a BB gun.
1:07 p.m., suspicious circumstances — Someone said a man in a long black coat stood in the roadway, blocked traffic and attempted to get into their vehicle on Sanguinetti Road.
3:12 p.m., trespass/loiter — A woman slept under a blanket near a dumpster at an eatery on
South Washington Street and left after an officer arrived.
3:16 p.m., lost, found property — A wallet was found in an eatery on South Washington Street.
6:32 p.m., theft — A woman’s purse was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of a business on Mono Way.
9:35 p.m., theft — A male patient took medications from a cart, ran out of the emergency room and was arrested on Greenley Road.
The Sheriff’s Office logs for Dec. 31 through Wednesday remained unavailable due to a reorganization of staff.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:
WEDNESDAY
10:25 a.m., Arnold — Someone attempted to steal fuel on Dunbar Road.

WEDNESDAY
5:30 p.m., Arnold — Bradley Dwane Clark, 59, of the 3000 block of Shoshone Drive, Camp Connell, was booked after an arrest at Highway 4 and Pine Drive.
Felony bookings:
WEDNESDAY
2:30 a.m., Valley Springs — Shawn Jonathan Melcher, 45, of the 10000 block of Hogan Dam Road was booked on suspicion of sexual penetration with a foreign object on a drugged victim after an arrest at his home.
3:01 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — Joe Milton Hallett, 64, of the 100 block of West Saint Charles Street, San Andreas, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/ cohabitant/date and misdemeanor charges of possession of unlawful paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance after an arrest on Highway 26.
