The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

THURSDAY

4:41 a.m., unclassifi­ed — A light was on at a Sanguinett­i Road railroad crossing, but no train was in sight.

8:17 a.m., pedestrian check — An officer spoke to a man who was walking in the middle of South Washington Street and advised the man to walk on a sidewalk and keep his dogs on a leash.

1:13 p.m,, reckless driving — A man driving a white Ford dually drove through a Caltrans lane closure on Stockton Road and yelled profanitie­s at a man holding the stop/slow sign.

2:01 p.m., trespass/loiter — A man with short dark hair took bites out of a tomato without paying for it at a South Washington Street business.

2:08 p.m., trespass/loiter — An intoxicate­d man was arrested after a Sanguinett­i Road business said he was loitering near a business.

3:48 p.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A Lyons-bald Mountain Road resident said an unknown man wearing tan pants and wrapped with a gold sheet or blanket was pacing in the parking lot and using binoculars to look into apartments. The man was gone when officers arrived.

3:54 p.m., animal complaints — A brown pit bull-mix dog with an orange collar was loose in a Sanguinett­i Road parking lot.

5:30 p.m., unclassifi­ed — A caller said someone driving a recreation­al travel vehicle dumped gray water in the Mill Villa Court business’ two weeks ago and was again in the parking lot. The vehicle’s driver was cited for illegally dumping the waste water and not having valid registrati­on.

6:11 p.m., animal complaints — A 5- or 6-year-old child was bitten by a dog at a Sanguinett­i Road business.

6:24 p.m., public peace/ fight/disorderly conduct — Two people called to report a man screaming and yelling in the North Forest Road area. Officers were unable to find the man.

9:16 p.m., vehicle theft — A man wearing a light blue hoodie and black pants attempted to break into a white Toyota pickup parked at a Sanguinett­i Road business. The vehicle’s owner chased the man, who was last seen on foot near railroad tracks.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

THURSDAY

1:56 a.m., Jamestown — A person walked in front of cars near a gas station on Highway 108, punched the air and talked to himself.

3:02 a.m., Jamestown — Someone was seen loitering near the back door of a Highway 108 gas station.

7:12 a.m., Twain Harte — Mail was stolen on Cedar Pines Avenue.

9:04 a.m., Twain Harte — Two people called to report mail stolen on Robin Hood Drive.

10:59 a.m., Twain Harte — Mail was stolen on Broken Bough Lane.

12:36 p.m., Jamestown — A mobile home was on fire on Old Melones Dam Road.

5:26 p.m., Jamestown — A dog was loose on Circle Drive.

5:37 p.m., Jamestown — A Circle Drive caller said they were having ongoing issues with an aggressive dog.

6:01 a.m., Chinese Camp — Cows were in the middle of Highway 120.

8:43 p.m., Sonora — Abuse was reported at a Lyons-bald Mountain Road property.

9:22 p.m., Jamestown — Two men and a woman screamed at people inside a Highway 108 convenienc­e store and threatened the caller.

3:45 p.m., Sonora — Leslie Taylor Hay, 32, address not given, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant/date and misdemeano­r possession of a narcotic controlled substance and possession of unlawful parapherna­lia after an arrest on Sanguinett­i Road.

9:24 p.m., Long Barn — Tammy Lynn Schulz, 47, of the 22000 block of Crystal Road, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant/date after an arrest at her home.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

10:35 a.m., San Andreas — A person camping behind a library on Gold Hunter Road was told by an officer to move along.

3:45 p.m., Murphys — Jaime Yosdenni Islaortiz, 31, of the 3300 block of Highway 4, Avery, was booked on suspicion of carjacking, battery with serious bodily injury and conspiracy to commit a crime after an arrest on Main Street.
