Donald Charles Kellogg, a resident of Sonora of 42 years, passed away on Nov. 2, 2022, at age 82.

He was born April 26, 1940, in Long Beach, California, to Eugene Kellogg and Grace (Devries) Kellogg. He graduated from the San Pedro High in the class of 1958 and attended Sacramento State University, graduating with his master’s degree in education in 1972. He served in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966 and worked as a reserve police officer with the Merced Police Department. He went on to teach in Merced County schools before leaving to teach at Sonora Union High School, where he taught driver’s training and history before retiring in 1999. He spent his last 23 years of retirement enjoying his time gardening and spending time with his family and all of his animals.

He was survived by his spouse of 52 years, Connie (Saucedo) Kellogg; son Donald E. Kellogg, of Sonora; daughter Katherine and son-in-law, Colby Zupa,n of Mayville, North Dakota and their 10 children, Michael and his wife, Kenzie Zupan, Elijah and Morgan Zupan, Natalie Zupan, Colby Jr. Zupan, Kayleigh Zupan, Kaylyn Zupan, Jamisen Zupan, and Ava Zupan, residing in North Dakota, and Joshua Zupan, and Samantha Zupan, of Rocklin; sister Judy Davis and her partner, Gabriel Castorena, of Silverado; and his brother John Kellogg and wife, Tine, of Volcano.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Kellogg, who passed on Nov. 16, 2020.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sonora.
