Strokes the subject of SIR meeting

Nancy Muleady-mecham, an adjunct professor at Columbia College, will be guest speaker at a meeting Tuesday, Nov. 15, of the SIR Branch 152 of Arnold.

The meeting will begin with social time at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at noon and a program at Our Lady of the Sierra Catholic Church, 1301 Linebaugh

Road in Arnold. Muleady-mecham is a retired National Park Service Ranger and served for over 30 years as a National Registryce­rtified paramedic, a flight nurse and a registered nurse. She also served as a search-andrescue specialist in highangle, swift-water and short-haul rescues. She teaches subjects including biology, anatomy, physiology and medicine, pathology, astronomy and forestry at the college. Her topic for the meeting will be strokes — what they are, how to identify one and how to respond to one.
