TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

MONDAY

8:04 a.m., traffic violations — A police officer was requested for traffic enforcemen­t on South Barretta Street between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. due to excessive speeding.

11:46 a.m., vandalism, property damage — A man said someone pried open the gas cap on his girlfriend’s blue Volkswagen Tiguan at Theall and South Shepherd streets sometime the previous night.

2 p.m., traffic accidents — A woman said she was parked in front of the Tuolumne County Behavioral Health Department’s Enrichment Center on Hospital Road when a white Subaru Baja with Nevada license plates backed into her pickup and drove away toward South Washington Street.

3:17 p.m., trespass/loiter — Someone said a large motorhome was parked on and off for the past week at a doctor’s office on Guzzi Lane, but an officer spoke with security who confirmed they had permission to be there.

4:12 p.m., theft — Gas was stolen from a man’s vehicle on Terrace Avenue sometime the previous night.

5:57 p.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A caller said a unisex bathroom at an eatery on Mono Way was locked since 4 p.m., and they believed someone may be inside because it can only be locked from the inside, but they didn’t have a key. Officers responded and confirmed the door was unlocked and no one was inside.

The Sheriff’s Office logs for Monday were delayed.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

3:53 p.m., Valley Springs — A report was taken for vandalism on Highway 26.

7:56 p.m., Wallace — A caller on Cormorant Drive said a vehicle followed them into a gated community.

11:54 p.m., Valley Springs — A vehicle was towed at South Petersburg Road and the Oak Knoll Campground.

3:39 a.m., Wallace — Robert William King, 59, of the 300 block of Oliveira Court, was booked on suspicion of failing to register as a felony sex offender and a misdemeano­r charge of possessing drug parapherna­lia, after an arrest at his home.
