TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

TUESDAY

12:13 a.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A woman on O’hara Drive said a man was in her backyard. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate the suspect.

12:23 a.m., public peace, fight, disorderly conduct — A caller said a man in a black or dark-green SUV spun a donut and then was parked in the crosswalk blasting music at Stockton Road and Southgate Drive. He then sat in the road and was periodical­ly yelling. An officer spoke with the man, who said he was going through some “personal issues” and had been drinking. The man said he was going to “sleep it off,” and his vehicle was legally parked and not in the roadway.

1:41 a.m., burglary — A business on Mono Way was burglarize­d.

7:59 a.m., accidental injury — A caller said a vehicle hit a bicyclist on Mono Way, then the driver of the vehicle called 911 and said the bicyclist went down on her own prior to a collision and hit her head on a curb. Officers confirmed there was no collision, and the bicyclist was taken to the hospital by medics.

8:05 a.m., lost, found property — A found was found in a public restroom on South Green Street.

9:35 a.m., vandalism, property damage — A woman at an apartment complex on Greenley Road accused her neighbor of vandalizin­g her belongings and vehicle. She said she has no proof it was her neighbor, but “knows it is her.” An officer responded and found dirt on the woman’s windshield, which the woman believed was caused by her neighbor. The officer determined the dirt was actually bird feces, though the woman still believed her neighbor put it there. The woman declined to have the officer speak with her neighbor and only asked for the incident to be documented.

9:54 a.m., lost, found property — A woman on Stockton Road said she lost her cell phone after leaving it on her bumper the previous Wednesday or Thursday and saw a man in a motorcycle pick something up in the same area, but did not know if it was her phone.

10:14 a.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A woman on Greenley Road said she was possibly the victim of identity theft after benefits were taken off her EBT card possibly in

Sacramento. An officer confirmed cash was removed from her account at an ATM in Sacramento and referred the matter to Sacramento police.

10:54 a.m., traffic accidents — A woman on Greenley Road said her Tesla was hit and she believed the responsibl­e vehicle was parked two parking spaces away because it had paint transfer on it. An officer found a small paint chip and scuffed plastic that appeared to be old and didn’t find damage on any surroundin­g vehicles.

11:56 a.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A man on Elk Drive was on his back porch when he noticed a green Chevrolet pickup with a black tailgate pull up to a nearby residence. Three people got out of the Chevy and started going through a white Toyota and a blue Toyota truck, and they took papers out of the vehicles. All three people appeared to be older, and one had a shaved head. The man asked for documentat­ion in case his neighbor reported it. The man’s neighbor called at 2 p.m. and confirmed a theft out of the Toyota truck, which had been left unlocked along with the other vehicle.

2:19 p.m., trespass/loiter — A caller said a man was doing drugs inside a red tent that was set up between a restaurant on Sanguinett­i Road and the railroad tracks. An officer confirmed the man was smoking tobacco out of a tobacco pipe and didn’t see signs of any drug use.

4:07 p.m., driving under the influence — A caller said a driver who was possibly under the influence turned onto northbound South Washington Street from Highway 108 and was driving erraticall­y, before pulling into the parking lot of a liquor store on Restano Way. The driver then backed into a truck in the parking lot. Richard C. Gardiner, 73, address not provided, was cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and was released to the hospital.

5:34 p.m., lost, found property — A caller said they lost a set of keys within the last month on North Washington Street that had two smaller keys with black rubber for bike locks and one key with a circular black rubber cap for a Harley-davidson motorcycle.

7:16 p.m., trespass/loiter — People in an encampment near the creek at a park on Woods Creek Drive said they would pack up their belongings and leave the area after an officer informed them of a city ordinance that prohibits camping near critical infrastruc­ture.

8:08 p.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A man said he heard three gunshots coming from the area of Snell and School streets and then heard a vehicle drive by heading toward Columbia from North Washington Street.

8:21 p.m., fraudulent activities — A man said he was at a pharmacy on Mono Way when he received a phone call purporting to be Paypal stating $2,000 was accidental­ly put into his account and he needed to reimburse them immediatel­y. He believed someone opened the Paypal account in his name fraudulent­ly and took $660 from his bank account.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

TUESDAY

7:13 a.m., East Sonora — A semi was losing gravel at Highway 108 and Hess Avenue.

7:16 a.m., Sonora — A caller found someone sleeping in their driveway on Canyon View Road.

11:34 a.m., Jamestown — The fence was cut and a trailer was broken into at a storage facility at Well House and Vista drives.

1:27 p.m., Sonora — Wood was stolen Sunday at a Smokey River Drive property.

2:21 p.m., Jamestown — People were stealing merchandis­e in a store on Highway 108 and started knocking down displays when confronted.

3:08 p.m., Moccasin — A man said his vehicle was blocking the road at Highway 120 and Moccasin Creek Road because his tire flew off.

4:06 p.m., Tuolumne — A large piece of equipment fell off a tree service’s truck and was in the roadway on Tuolumne Road west of Soulsbyvil­le Road.

8:03 a.m., Mi-wuk Village — Anthony Diaz Muniz, 21, of the 23900 block of Pine Lake Drive, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse, cohabitant, or date after an arrest at his home.

10:09 p.m., Sierra Village — Taneika Addie-mae Riverstone, 19, of the 600 block of Arlington Isle, Alameda, was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol causing bodily injury, after an arrest on Highway 108 east of Ridge Trail Court.

3:16 a.m., West Point — A report was taken for a disturbanc­e on Stanley Road.

8:17 a.m., Burson — A report was taken for littering on Hummingbir­d Lane.
