Limit the Falcons’ passing attack
The Falcons might be struggling, but QB Matt Ryan can still throw the ball. Atlanta is third in the NFL with an average of 318 passing yards a game. The Redskins’ secondary has struggled against the pass some this year.
Washington boosted its defensive backfield with Tuesday’s trade for S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. He should help, but with CB Quinton Dunbar still recovering from a nerve issue in his lower leg, it will be a challenge for the Redskins to cover Falcons WR Julio Jones (812 yards receiving) as well as Calvin Ridley and Mohamad Sanu (716 yards combined).
