Bison’s 19th straight win puts them in semifinals



Easton Stick threw for three touchdowns, and top-seeded North Dakota State advanced to the Football Championsh­ip Subdivisio­n semifinals for the eighth straight year with a 35-0 win over eighth-seeded Colgate on Saturday in Fargo, N.D.

Stick was 14 for 19 for 205 yards as the Bison (13-0) piled up 443 yards vs. the Raiders (10-2), who had the top defense in the FCS. The defending national champions have won 19 in a row.

SOUTH DAKOTA STATE 27, KENNESAW STATE 17: Taryn Christion threw for a touchdown and ran for another for the Jackrabbit­s in Kennesaw, Ga.

South Dakota State (10-2) plays at NDSU next weekend. SDSU lost, 21-17, at NDSU on Sept. 29.

EASTERN WASHINGTON 34, UC DAVIS 29: Eric Barriere accounted for four touchdowns and Sam McPherson scored on a 35-yard run with 26 seconds left to lift the Eagles (11-2) into the FCS semifinals.

Their win in Cheney, Wash., sets up another home game next week against Maine, which won Friday.

MOUNT UNION 28, JOHNS HOPKINS 20: In Alliance, Ohio, the Purple Raiders returned two intercepti­ons for touchdowns to beat the Blue Jays in the Division III semifinals.

Mount Union (14-0) will play Mary Hardin Baylor in next week’s championsh­ip game.

The Blue Jays (12-2) had an 11-game winning streak ended.

MARY HARDIN BAYLOR 31, WISCONSIN WHITEWATER 14: Markieth Miller ran for 168 yards and two touchdowns as the Crusaders (15-0) advanced to Friday’s game in Shenandoah, Tex.

VALDOSTA STATE 30, NOTRE DAME COLLEGE 24: David Brown’s 100-yard intercepti­on return for a touchdown helped the Blazers (13-0) beat the Falcons (13-1) in a Division II semifinal in Valdosta, Ga.

FERRIS STATE 42, MINNESOTA STATE 25: Jayru Campbell threw for 251 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for 103 yards to lead the Bulldogs (15-0) in Mankato, Minn.

They will play Valdosta State in the Division II championsh­ip Saturday in McKinney, Tex.
