Tuskegee Confederate statue is focus of suit
A lawsuit has been filed that could decide the fate of a Confederate monument that has stood at the center of nearly allBlack Tuskegee for 115 years.
The Macon County Commission in Alabama has filed suit against United Daughters of the Confederacy chapters arguing that the county owns the property where the statue is located and wants the title to the plot, WSFA-TV reported.
The statue has been the subject of demonstrations for decades in Tuskegee, which is almost all Black and the home of Tuskegee University.
