Nissan Board to Forgo Bonus Pay

Nissan chief executive Carlos Ghosn told shareholders that the firm’s board members will forgo their bonus pay to take responsibility for poor performance, acknowledging that the Japanese automaker had not met its targets for fiscal 2006.

Nissan is investing heavily to play catch-up in key technologies, including gas-electric hybrids, as well as other kinds of en- vironmental innovations, he said. Ghosn also said that Nissan was working on a $3,000 car for the Indian market but that its sale date had not been decided.
