Caribbean Carnival Parade to Roll Saturday
The D.C. Caribbean Carnival parade is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on Georgia Avenue. Masqueraders will portray characters from fantasy and ancient and modern history.
The parade route starts at Georgia and Missouri avenues and ends at Barry Place NW. In nearby Banneker Park, there will be Caribbean cuisine, arts and crafts and entertainment. Activities continue in the park Sunday. Admission: $10 per person, free for children younger than 12.
June is Caribbean American Heritage month, and the annual festival traditionally draws hordes to Georgia Avenue.
