A day for dogs of all stripes (and stars)

The Washington Post - - METRO -

Wearing a Fourth-of-July-themed hat, Finney, a Boston terrier at left, waits with owner Christy Marshall, not pictured, for the start of the annual “Bark in the Park” dog show and demonstration in Columbia, Md. At right, Gabby Christopher, 16, offers a treat to her dog, Lou, also dressed in a patriotic outfit. Sunday’s event, sponsored by the Columbia Town Center Community Association, featured dogs and owners dressed in red, white and blue parading around Vantage Point Park. Fidos for Freedom also put on a demonstration of service dog skills. Dogs were able to cool off in a kiddie pool and have their “paw-traits” taken in the Smooch Your Pooch Kissing Booth, according to the Columbia Town Center website. Food and prizes were offered to dogs and their humans.
