Prince George’s passes largest budget ever
The Prince George’s County Council on Thursday adopted a $4.09 billion budget, the largest in the county’s history.
The spending plan devotes more than $2 billion to education.
The council made a few minor changes to the budget during the negotiation process. The spending plan does not include a property tax increase.
Funding for the county’s public education system represents 64 percent of the budget and exceeds the state requirement by $13 million.
