At­tacked, not ne­glected

While read­ing the in­ter­est­ing Nov. 25 front-page ar­ti­cle “A van­dal’s war of words blights lit­tle li­brary near the White House,” a num­ber of words stood out. First, the word “di­lap­i­dated” to de­scribe the Lit­tle Free Li­brary was in­cor­rect. It has been van­dal­ized a num­ber of times. It is not in a state of dis­re­pair from age or ne­glect. Sec­ond, the handy­man who built the li­brary was de­scribed as an im­mi­grant. Why is that rel­e­vant to the story? Joan L. Wi­torsch, Rockville
