Is the planet worth it or not?
Regarding the Sept. 8 news article “With agenda on the line, Democrats gird for budget fight”:
While Congress is mired in debate of a complex $3.5 trillion spending bill, buried in the package is presumably a major focus on combating climate change. It’s high time we face down this existential crisis more directly by debating a standalone climate and energy bill.
Let the American people and our legislators have an open debate about how much of a priority the climate crisis is. Now is the time for our representatives to declare their full commitment to the effort or to explain to the public why an expensive investment into saving life on this planet is not worth it.
