The Twins-yankees game in New York was postponed Tuesday night because of rain. It will be made up Wednesday as part of a single-admission doublehead­er beginning at 3:05 p.m.


Padres: Suspended SS Fernando Tatis Jr. had surgery to repair the torn labrum in his left shoulder. The procedure had been postponed a few days because Tatis had strep throat. Recovery is estimated at four to six months. His spring training debut could be delayed, but he should be at full strength by the time he’s done serving an 80-game suspension for testing positive for a performanc­e-enhancing drug.

Rays: RHP Drew Rasmussen was scratched from his start and placed on the paternity list after his wife gave birth. Tampa Bay reinstated RHP Yonny Chirinos (elbow) from the 60-day IL.

Red Sox: 1B-OF Franchy Cordero (ankle) was placed on the IL, and RHP Tanner Houck had back surgery and is expected to be ready for spring training. . . .

Kiké Hernández agreed to a $10 million contract for 2023, preventing the 31-year-old utility player from becoming a free agent.

Yankees: 1B Anthony Rizzo will be placed on the IL after being hampered by headaches the team thinks are related to an epidural injection he received to alleviate lower back pain. 1B Ronald Guzmán will be called up from Class AAA Scranton/ Wilkes-barre.
