A man who was shot and killed Sunday night in Bladensburg has been identified, police said.

Duane Ellis, 43, of Bladensburg was found about 9:15 p.m. in the stairwell of an apartment building in the 4200 block of 58th Avenue, Bladensburg Police Chief Tyrone Collington Sr. said. Police went there in response to a call about gunshots and found a man with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The homicide will be investigated by Prince George’s County police, Collington said.

Bladensburg, a town of about 10,000 people in Prince George’s County, borders Northeast Washington.

Police said an initial investigation showed that the shooting did not appear to be random.

A $25,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case, officials said.
