Cindy Mccain will become the new executive director of the United Nations World Food Program, putting her at the head of the largest global humanitari­an organizati­on. Mccain, 68, who has served since 2021 as U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Agencies in Rome, is the widow of former senator John Mccain (R-ariz.). She will take the position in April, according to Devex, which first reported the news.
