- — Maham Javaid and Kate Brady

A shooting in Hamburg left several people seriously injured, “some even fatally,” police said late Thursday, as teams of officers entered a Jehovah’s Witness hall in tactical gear. Police said they had “no reliable information on the motive for the crime.” The perpetrator may be among the dead, police spokesman Holger Vehren said at the scene. Police did not disclose the number of victims who were wounded or killed. Arriving officers heard a gunshot from within the building and found a body when they followed the sound, Vehren said. Images taken by local photographers showed heavily armed officers in body armor, holding long guns and organizing themselves outside a three-story building.
