Suspect arrested in Germany hostage-taking:
Police in Germany announced an arrest after a special unit stormed a pharmacy in the southwestern city of Karlsruhe where many people had been held hostage for hours. Explosions were heard when officers in tactical gear entered the pharmacy. Later a man restrained by officers was brought out of the pharmacy and bundled into a car. The incident occurred a day after a gunman killed six people at a Jehovah’s Witness hall in Hamburg before taking his own life. Gun violence is rare in Germany.
