8 Holocaust survivors at Hanukkah celebration
President Trump marked Hanukkah on Thursday evening at a White House reception that included eight Holocaust survivors.
In an East Room event, Mr. Trump recalled the fatal mass shooting at a synagogue in Pittsburgh in October, calling it a “sinister anti-Semitic attack.”
“In the aftermath of that wicked assault, we reaffirmed our solemn duty to confront anti-Semitism everywhere it occurs,” the president said.
The president then introduced eight Holocaust survivors, telling them that they inspire the world with their courage, and that they had seen “evil beyond description.”
The White House identified them as Sara Censor, Bertha Einhorn, David Einhorn, Ethel Flam, Gita Landau, Dolly Rabinowitz, Ruth Salamon and Zahava Ungar.
