The Washington Times Weekly - - Letters To The Editor -

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is right that the WikiLeaks document disclosure “puts people’s lives in danger, threatens our national security and undermines our efforts to work with other countries”. But the Obama administration did nothing to stop this disaster before it happened.

Nothing was done back in July when the first document dump occurred detailing U.S. battle plans in Iraq and Afghanistan. No action was taken against the leaker who was known last month to have downloaded 250,000 documents and given them to WikiLeaks. No real effort was made by the State Department to halt publication by the WikiLeaks founder.

The response of President Obama to the largest security breach in American history has been to hide out from media questioning. This only underscores his reputation for inaction and weakness. Jim Hartman Berkeley, California
