There’s no right to murder

The Washington Times Weekly - - Letters To The Editor - TEDDYLEE GRAY St. Ann, Jamaica

The government is supposed to protect lives. Yet many liberals are calling us conservatives hypocrites for believing in government intervention against abortion. When I hear those arguments, it is clear to me that liberals don’t recognize a fetus as a life.

Liberals want women to have a choice regarding pregnancies; Democratic Sen. Bernie Sanders a presidential candidate, believes aborion is a right. When it comes to morals and values, the government should intervene. Aborting children should not be a part of our society.

In the 2016 presidential election, 54 percent of women supported Hillary Clinton, while 42 percent supported Donald Trump. Clearly, not all women believe in the “right to choose.” The media likes to pretend that only men voted for Mr. Trump. Many Republicans who voted for Mr. Trump did so to get conservatives and originalists on the U.S. Supreme Court in order to overturn Roe v. Wade.
