GOP, stop undermining Trump

The Washington Times Weekly - - Letters To The Editor - MARVIN L. HOOVIS Centerville, Massachusetts

In 2016, President Trump helped Republicans get House and Senate majorities. In 2018, he helped them keep the Senate majority. Yet the splinter groups of Republicans did not keep their promises to repeal and replace Obamacare. They have not fully supported Mr. Trump’s appropriate withdrawals from the flawed Paris climate agreement and the Iran nuclear deal, neither of which was passed by the Senate.

Every criticism of Mr. Trump by the Democrats is accepted as fact by these same anti-Trump Republicans.

Mr. Trump’s recent tweets were not racist, nor did they contain any specific mention of race or color. They were simply direct criticisms of “the Squad” members’ own words. These four representatives have been anti-Semitic and have used extremely foul language.

Many Republican supporters are angry about the disloyalty from the GOP. Some people have even responded to House, Senate and other groups’ requests for donations by telling them, “When you support President Trump and the majority of Republicans, then I will again contribute.”

Why do these so-called Republicans do a disservice to their constituents and our country by undermining the president?
