A victory — but work remains
While the death of Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghadadi may have been a significant blow to that terrorist organization, the group is still alive and operating in 19 nations with its dedicated agenda. With new leadership it will continue to be a deadly threat to not only the countries of the Middle East but also U.S. interests worldwide.
It’s worth noting that al Qaeda has not only been maintained, it has morphed into new terror groups with the same agenda.
The death of al-Baghadadi is only a single victory in a neverending battle.
