Still following the Dead? The immensely popular zombie apocalypse series was uneven in its seventh season: It followed up one of its most shocking episodes by alternating between gratuitously violent filler and the slow gathering of survivors ready to take on Negan, the villain with the barbwire-wrapped baseball bat. The show’s 100th episode opens a new season in which the battle against Negan becomes allout war. Hero Rick Grimes is back at the center of the action as Negan proves again that the show’s most frightening characters are living, not undead. Sunday, Oct. 22, at 9 p.m., AMC
