A Washington, D.C., lawmaker blamed the area’s recent snowfalls on “the Rothschilds.” Democratic Council member Trayon White Sr. told constituents that the Jewish banking family is “controlling the climate to create natural disasters they can pay for to own the cities, man.” White later apologized, saying he didn’t realize his comments were anti-Semitic.

A Massachusetts lawmaker is calling for the “General Hooker Entrance” sign to be removed from a doorway to the State House because it is offensive to women. Democratic State Rep. Michelle DuBois says that although the entrance is named in honor of Civil War General Joseph Hooker, female staffers avoid it. On Twitter, DuBois explained, “#Metoo—it’s not all about rape and harassment but also women’s dignity.”
