The InterContinental

-

Downtown Los Angeles This new hotel “sticks out like a sore thumb”—in a good way, said Jimmy Im in Telegraph.co.uk. The InterContinental occupies the upper half of the 73-floor Wilshire Grand Center, the tallest building west of Chicago, and has clean, luxurious interiors and four fine restaurants. But the real reason you should check in is to check out the sweeping views offered by the floorto-ceiling windows in all 889 rooms. From my west-facing corner suite on the 60th floor, I could see Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and the Hollywood sign from morning to night. intercontinental.com; doubles from $379
