Huong Huynh’s felt replicas of cakes and pastries look so real, “it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see one of her soft sculptures in a bakery case.” The shown here is a product of the decade that the Houston artist has spent refining her sewing and painting skills. Huynh doesn’t make only pastries: She’s created felt vegetables, popsicles, and sandwiches, and she admits to being obsessive compulsive. If she’s creating a cake with sliced strawberries, she’ll cut some berries, scan several slices, and print the images on fabric. It’s up to the customer to decide if the result is a toy, a pincushion, or simply art. From $20, milkfly.etsy.com Source:
