A New York woman is suing Canada Dry, claiming its ginger ale doesn’t contain enough real ginger. Julie Fletcher says she bought the product for her sons in the belief that ginger soothes stomachach­es. But when Fletcher studied the ingredient­s label, her lawsuit states, she realized the drink contains a “microscopi­c amount of ginger flavor extract,” which “provides none of the health benefits consumers associate with real ginger.”

Under a proposed new policy, University of Minnesota students and faculty could be expelled or fired if they refer to someone by the wrong pronoun. The policy would allow all university members to choose their own pronouns— including “she,” “he,” “they,” and “ze”—and calls for “appropriat­e” penalties, up to expulsion and dismissal, for those who fail to go along.
