■■■Chil­dren over the age of 12 face up to six months in jail if they’re caught in Ch­e­sa­peake, Va., this Hal­loween en­gag­ing in “the ac­tiv­ity com­monly known as ‘trick or treat.’” City of­fi­cials passed the or­di­nance to pre­vent older kids from en­gag­ing in Hal­loween mis­chief. Even chil­dren un­der 12 are banned from trick-or-treat­ing af­ter 8 p.m., and face jail time of “not more than 30 days.” ■■■A Florida woman says her daugh­ter was sus­pended from high school be­cause her ripped jeans, show­ing her right knee, might in­flame the “hor­mones” of male stu­dents. Melissa McKin­lay says an ad­min­is­tra­tor told her daugh­ter she should “con­sider the guys in her class and their hor­mones when choos­ing her out­fit.” McKin­lay noted that many male stu­dents wear­ing shorts “have two knees show­ing.”
