Gaffe-prone: Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden twice blundered while answering questions during a virtual convention for black and Hispanic journalists. Responding to one about engagement with Cuba, Biden, 77, said, “Unlike the African-American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly diverse attitudes about different things.” He later clarified: “In no way did I mean to suggest the African-American community is a monolith—not by identity, not on issues, not at all.” Biden was also asked if he had taken a cognitive test, as President Trump has claimed. ”No, I haven’t taken a test,” Biden said. “Why the hell would I take a test?” He then compared the question to asking the reporter, who was black and from CBS, if he had taken a cocaine test before the interview, likening it to someone asking him, “Are you a junkie?”
