A riveting true-crime series from Canada revisits the story of a scion of the Moosehead Brewery who was tried and imprisoned for the brutal murder of his millionaire father. Dennis Oland was the prime suspect from the day of the 2011 crime, but his lawyers eventually uncovered evidence of gross incompetence on the part of detectives in the small coastal city of St. John, New Brunswick. Chemical Hearts
Riverdale’s Lili Reinhart has found a worthy side project. In a feature-length drama based on a YA novel by Krystal Sutherland, Reinhart plays an enigmatic new girl in school who walks with a limp and catches the eye of a boy who sees himself as a romantic who’s never been in love. Reinhart executive-produced the movie and you can see why: It checks all the boxes for a satisfying teen romance. Available for streaming Friday, Aug. 21, Amazon Prime
Expedition to the Edge
Two years ago, Capt. Clemens Gabriel attempted to sail a ship farther north than any had gone before. This new docuseries joins the colorful “sea gypsy” and his family as they attempt the daring expedition through the Northwest Passage on an aging 120-foot ketch that was never built to be an icebreaker.
