Apple: Three MacBooks to debut with ‘Apple silicon’

-

Apple plans to unveil new MacBook computers featuring its own silicon chips on Nov. 10, said Mark Gurman and Debby Wu in Bloomberg .com. The company is “ramping up production” on three new laptops— a 13-inch MacBook Air and two MacBook Pros—with Apple-designed processors based on the A14 chip it uses in the latest iPhones and iPad Air. While a full switch could take two years, the debut of the new machines marks the beginning of the end for Apple’s partnership with Intel, which has made Apple’s main processors since 2006.
