Not like the
Holocaust: Rep.
Marjorie Taylor
Greene (R-Ga.) last week likened the House’s coronavirus mask rules to Nazi treatment of Jews during the Holocaust. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has told legislators they must wear masks on the House floor until they can prove they’ve been vaccinated. “We can look back at a time in history where people were told to wear a gold star...and taken to gas chambers in Nazi Germany,” Greene said on the Real America’s Voice network’s conservative show The Water Cooler With David Brody. “And this is exactly the type of abuse that Nancy Pelosi is talking about.” Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) joined Democrats in condemning Greene, calling her remarks “evil lunacy.” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said Greene’s “decision to compare the horrors of the Holocaust with wearing masks is appalling,” but also accused Democrats of ignoring antiSemitism in their own ranks and made no moves to formally censure her.
