This “chilling” documentar­y about the Holocaust “explores the era’s eternal question,” said Gary Goldstein in the Los Angeles Times: “Were you a perpetrato­r if you knew, but said or did nothing?” The late filmmaker Luke Holland spent 12 years interviewi­ng hundreds of elderly Germans, including former Nazi officials. They wrestle on camera with their complicity, and only a few express regret. “Although the film sometimes feels a bit static, it should be required viewing.” (In select theaters) PG-13
