Federal workers: U.S. offers options for remote work

Government officials are considering ways to accommodate federal employees who want to work from home permanently, said Lisa Rein in The Washington Post. The Biden administration is expected to release guidance in June to address remote work policies. An endorsement of regular work-from-home arrangements for 2.1 million federal employees “would have been unthinkable a year ago.” Before the pandemic, just 3 percent of the federal labor force worked remotely. But some agencies, such as the Department of Agriculture, have already told employees they “will allow telework as much as four days a week.”
