Karen, which plunged 171 places in the Social Security Administration’s latest annual ranking of popular baby names. Newly saddled with connotations of white entitlement and a chronic need to speak to the manager, “Karen” was the chosen name of only
325 babies in 2020, down from more than 33,000 in 1965.
