Cruises: What to know

-

More than a year after all anchors dropped, cruises are slowly returning, said Andrea Sachs in The Washington Post. This summer, vaccinated seafarers have a few dozen cruises to choose from, most of which will depart from Caribbean rather than U.S. ports. (Celebrity, for example, is sailing from St. Maarten; Royal Caribbean will operate from Nassau.) Nearly all cruise lines require passengers to be vaccinated. Unlike the handful of trial cruises bearing unvaxxed volunteers, fully vaccinated ships are exempt from Covid testing and mask requirements. So far, the CDC has cleared two all-vax Celebrity ships to depart from Florida ports, but because Gov. Ron DeSantis passed a law banning vaccine passports, cruise lines may withdraw from the state.
