Pharma: Novavax vaccine will add to world stockpile
A vaccine from the pharmaceutical maker Novavax was found to be 90 percent effective against illness from Covid-19 in a stage-3 trial, said Carolyn Johnson in The Washington Post. With the U.S. already seeing diminished vaccine demand, Novavax “will have its biggest initial impact globally,” and plans to “apply for regulatory clearance from a half-dozen countries” next month. The Maryland company had never “pushed a vaccine across the finish line” when it received $1.6 billion from Operation Warp Speed last year.
